The Jenks Herb N Plant Festival is Saturday April 19 in downtown Jenks, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This one day free event brings thousands of shoppers into the Jenks area each year. Chosen as 2010 Governor's Conference on Tourism "Outstanding Event" winner, this festival has something for everyone.

Over a hundred booths fill Main Street 1st to 3rd and beyond with outstanding plants of every type and variety. The children are entertained with giant inflatable jungle gyms and slides or face painting and games and nearby are the miles of railroad tracks with trains buzzing under bridges and around in figure eights to please children of all ages. Come early the Kiwanis are fixing pancakes and sausages. The lunch bunch form lines early to the burgers, turkey legs, funnel cake or lemonade stands. Tables and chairs are available for diners; this year six Port-a-Potties and wash stand will be provided. Not far from all this action, one can pull up a chair by the REASOR'S Festival Stage to hear the sounds of local entertainers or listen to a Jenks School Choir. Be sure to drop your purchases at the Drop & Shop center to be protected by volunteers where they will be ready and waiting when you return. The Creek County Master Gardener volunteers are available to answer gardening questions. Stop by the Jenks Garden Club booth where the best buys are to be found from members who have shared their personal bounty with you.
